I love to read, but with a little one running around I don’t have much time to do so. But when I have the time, I love to read quality Christian books. I’m attracted to authors that keep me interested, and those that actually teach from His word. It’s much more enjoyable for me to read about real life situations and how that author used the Word to approach it. That’s what the latest “another recommended read” does, and I highly recommend you check it out. It’s called “Stronger – Forty Days of Metal and Spirituality“. It’s author, Brian “Head” Welch, is well-known in the music industry. He’s the ex-lead guitarist for the world-renowned band Korn, and has left that life to live for Christ. Brian is a perfect example of someone who had everything this fallen world has to offer…money, women, fame, and a large amount of drugs and alcohol. He went from flying on private jets to starting an orphanage. From using drugs everyday to giving away his fortune to help spread God’s love. This book takes the approach of reading a chapter each day for forty days, but to be honest when I started reading it I couldn’t stop. Each day has a different devotional message and verse, and Brian gives his thoughts on the verse and how he’s applied it to his daily walk with Christ. It’s very moving and he speaks straight from the heart and Word. If you’re looking for something uplifting, I can’t express enough how good this book is.
